The Joomla component

com_postrider — the connector installed into your Joomla site (see download) — is free to download and released under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later, the same license Joomla itself ships under. You're free to inspect, modify, and redistribute it under those terms.

The component is a thin client: it holds no campaign, list, or subscriber data itself, and does nothing useful on its own. It needs an active account on the hosted Postrider service (below) to connect to.

The hosted service

Postrider itself — sending infrastructure, list/campaign management, deliverability tracking — is a commercial, centrally-hosted subscription service, not something you self-host. Current published rates:

• Free — Free, up to 150 subscribers, 1,500 sends/month included
• Growth — £15/month, up to 1,000 subscribers, 10,000 sends/month included (then £1 per 1,000 sends over the included allowance)
• Scale — £39/month, up to 5,000 subscribers, 50,000 sends/month included (then £1 per 1,000 sends over the included allowance)

A member counts once per account regardless of how many lists they're on — unlike providers that bill the same person again for every audience they sit in. See the pricing calculator for an estimate against your own member count, or register your organisation to get started.
